Post

Hi all,

Would it please be possible to confirm if these were the original rims for the 1.6l 1981 Golf MK1 GTI?

Thanks! :)  Screen Shot 2018-04-22 at 21.27.25.png Screen Shot 2018-04-22 at 21.28.06.png

Looks like  to me.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

I thought the gti 's had alloys, or were they optional?

Thanks
I thought they looked really similar to what I could find online too.

Do you know the difference between the gti and non gti rims?

The widths differ on steels.

I think, don't quote me, these were for the early 1.6GTI then 1.8's had Tarantulas…

No, early gti's used a different style alloy wheel.

Can't remember the name tho.

These badgers.

Roach just googled & they are on early GTI's too… perhaps a US / Euro spec difference?? or just choice of rims??

No, swallows were all on steel wheels.

My 74 came on 13x5 like the steelies at the top of the thread.

They also came in 4.5,5 and 5.5 I think, model/year dependant.
