83 driver number plate light

Hi people
Putting number plate light on golf, it's one with black cover on lens, been ages since I took off as had respray question is which way they go on ? Flat side facing out or half round facing out?

Which ever way the clear lens is pointing at the number plate.

Thanks, I guessed it was .. I put year and model in title 1983 golf driver , its a 1.3 still with original engine.😀
