Post

Hello all,

I am after a downpipe for my 1.6 cabriolet. No joy on Heritage or Classic VW (out of stock). Any other options where I might find one greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Rachel

What sort of down pipe do you have?

Later "Toilet bowl" type with those big C clips?

Or early 6 bolt?

Thank you, it's  the toilet boil type with the c clips… would the ebay 1.8  injection one fit my 1.6 carb?  That would be good news!

Thanks, Rachel

Do you know what your engine code is? Possibly a EW?

I'm not 100% sure but they do show the same part number for the 1.6 and 1.8 carb and injection in the link below.

VW Part number 171253091A

But classic vw are showing a different part number?
Vw part number 171253091E

I think the difference is a bend in the exhaust to go over the anti roll bar, do you have a front anti roll bar?

Morning,

Just checked and no front anti roll bar. So on that basis, it should be the one without the bend?

Thanks, Rachel
