Secret Handshake?

Right folks,

I'm going to the Halifax VW show - see http://www.volksmaniacs.co.uk/

Whoever else is going - we need a way to recognise each other!

Black handkerchief tied round right knee?  Big sign that says - "I'm a Mk1 Owners .org and I'm proud"?  All forum users to go dressed as Daleks?

Any better suggestions - PLEASE help (my idea's are't to practical - I know).

Anyway - if you are in the camping bit on Saturday night - I'll be in the light blue Fiat 900E but don't come over drunk and singing at 2am or I'll not be best pleased!!

Hope to see some of you there,

Steve

If you are in Halifax that weekend and are interested in cars this is on in Heden Bridge (about 35 mins out of Halifax)

A Vintage Weekend in Hebden Bridge
Sat - classic rally for vehicles 1956-1977 Sun - Yorkshire Historic Car Club Rally for cars pre-1962, bicycles, commercials, stationary engines and pedal cars. Auto-jumble and charity stalls.

 or from another site;

VINTAGE WEEKEND IN HEBDEN BRIDGE
Calder Holmes Park, Hebden Bridge
12noon - 5.00pm
A display of historic vehicles
?2.50 adult, child ?1.50

Only ever been to Sunday vintage one but if weather is sunny it's a great day out and the other half will be happy to look round the town of Hebden Bridge.

I'm ushering at a friends wedding on Sunday in Halifax but don't think the bride will be happy about me and groom visiting car shows whilst hes supposed to be having his ball and chain fitted. 8O

1983 Mars Red 1.8 Golf GTI
1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Is there some correlation between the term 'Big Summer Bender' and 'that shirt?!'

If you spent half as much time organising club events than the time you spend ribbing my shirts…….  we be at every show going!!

Any news on planned club events?

Ouch - meow!!

Yes, there's one at Gaydon on the 28th August!  :y:

Seriously tho, concious of this but there have been various reasons why setting the club up and gearing towards event attendance hasn't been as quick as we would have liked.  At present, most energy is going into getting the press and traders to attend the show and ensuring Gaydon is a success again.

realistically, full club 'participation' at most events is something that will happen 2006 onwards - plus of course I am still looking at our little 'Nurby' excursion.

So, in answer to your cutting question! things are still happening behind the scenes, it's just all taking a little longer than hoped for
