My mk1 got nicked :(

the mk1 that i had had for a week was stolen yesterday

it was ashonishing

it ran like a car that was brand new and was in exellent condishon

eh? no way! Where was it stored? Garage,lock up,etc?

it was in my garage with no wheels on it and the wheels and nuts are in my house but the police say it was forced entry so i am baffled with were they got the wheels from

sounds like somebody knew a lot about the car and how to get it away. where did you buy it from ? keep an eye out on ebay / local adds not that many mk1's around. any reg no. details, pics ect  we can keep a look out.

Like Jim says post up the cars vitals and pics if you managed to get any.  Mk1 are in a small community and word gets round about them. You never know……

Real bad luck youngdub - it shouldn't happen to a youngster !

However good advice so far - post a new thread with the details and don't give up, you'll get real good support here.

Commiserations Young man. As everyone says post up what details you have and people will keep an eye out. It WILL surface sooner or later. enough publicity and the thing will be unsaleable and undriveable.

That is really bad - I feel for you!

Reminds me of a car that got nicked from someone on ED38 a year or two ago. Didn't have an engine in it. Must have broken in and either towed or flat bed'd it away!

Who ever came for yours came equiped with wheels and wheel bolts - no way it would have gone anywhere otherwise.
Who have you been talking to about your car - on the net or in person?
Have you posted you street name or location of the car anywhere inadvertantly?

Hope you get some good news on it…

:cry: feel really bad for you! I'd be absolutely gutted if my Mk1 got taken away from me (and it's nowhere near perfect!)

I think you did mention your exact location in Edinburgh but hardly a street address, and you never mentioned it didnt have alloys on it?

Im only 7 miles at most from you, few others from edinburgh so im sure we'l keep our ears tot he ground for you. End of the day the police will do sod all!  :roll:

get loads of pics and put them on ALL the forums inc aircooled
the  vw community is huge ,
then keep your fingers crossed
