Hey Pops how are ya?! I speak to Walt now and again and he says it's not the same on here without me so he doesn't come on here much. :( Boo. I don't know what he's on about ha ha

The only news I have is it didn't work out with my girl so I'm pretty upset about that. I will be coming home at some point…. don't know when though, not now the times not right. When I get back I'll have to buy another mk1. Has anyone seen my old car on here?

Hey Phil. The GTA is in winter storage. It doesn't handle so well in the snow….. so I bought a Evo to play with ha ha! :D  :D

Here is a few shots of my baby before I got her. I re-fitted a factory spoiler but looks pretty much the same.

(She likes to play in the snow)  :D

How are you mate? Happy Christmas and New Year!

I hope to be back on it in January though

Liking the Evo - esp. with icing on the top!!

Hey guys tis me again. How's things in blighty? I'm going to be coming home in a couple of months. What's the nicest mk1 tin top forsale at the moment? I'm going to need a new motor soon!!

I've been busy modding the Evo… I fitted some Rota 18X9.5 (yeah frickin wide) P45r's and Stance GR+ coilovers.

Here are a few pics for you non mk1 enjoyment.

Owning an Evo has got me thinking 4G63T MK1 golf…. now that would be original. Oh and the shop down the road from me has a 1130 awhp Evo VIII which shows the capabilty of the engine. Not bad for a 4 cylinder hey?!I'm thinking RWD too  :D  Could be an interesting project me thinks. You saw it hear first… no stealing my ideas.

Hey stranger!! Welcome back   You coming back home for good?

Like the EVO, VERY clean 8)  A MK1 will seem slow, (but much better  ) by comparison!

Chudd is selling his Mars Red I think, that's v.tidy. All you'd have to do is drop a quick motor in if 8V isn't enough and you'd be off

Catch you soon

Trouble with being a parent you are never rid of them

Karl where will you be located ? Do you think a MK1 will suffice after owning an Evo ?

Yes yes it will be for good.  :D

I miss my mk1 so much, but I have to admit I do love the Evo.  8)
I've got my eye on an Evo VI Tommi Makinen edition, another VIII or perhaps a mk4 Supra. Definately looking for a UK car rather than a grey import. The cost of fuel, insurance, mot, tax, maintainance cost + where I'm working and living is going to help decide which one I'll go for. I would like a mk1 project too but this all all speculation and it depends on my living/finacial situation when I move back home. I could do with a daily driver that's good on petrol/diesel and then a fast car for the weekend. :D

I'll be living at home with my folks until I get a job and find my own place. They live in Ingleton, North Yorkshire. Man I haven't lived at home since I was 18… I'm 26 now lol. It's going to be a kick in the bits but I haven't got much choice.

So Pops you've got your red one for sale….. is that the one with the vinyl roof? Does it have beads on the seats and a cripple spinner on the steering wheel? When you sell it are you going to leave the elderly/disabled sticker in the window so I can park anywhere? Have you ever had it out of third gear?

Ha ha I'm just messing    It's good to get back on the forum for a bit of banter!

Guess who's back back again…. kins is back!

Back home for good actually.

I've sold the Evo VIII and come home and bought…….

wait for it………………………..

not a mk1 sorry……another bloody Evo! Ha ha. They've got me hooked what can I say?

This time I've gone for a rare beast… an Evo V RS.

I fancied something a little rawer
.
So far I'm loving the new motor and have a smile from ear to ear everytime I take her out.

The car has 31500 miles and is minty mint inside out. No dings or scratches on the bodywork and the interior is mint too.

The RS is fairly stock. She has a 3" stainless exhaust which is too loud for my liking… I've no idea who makes it but I really do need to do some research into who makes a quieter exhaust. It also has a Bailey bov which I think needs replacing ASAP…it makes the car judder on light pedal cruising between 70 and 80. There is also a GReddy 63mm boost gauge with A-pillar mount (this needs hooking up correctly). It has a clifford alarm with intellistart which is kinda nice to have too. It's actually got Evo VI seats and door cards - upgraded to electric windows (I have the original RS windup jobbies too). The car also has Air Con, which I believe is a factory option (again nice to have and rare on a RS).

Externally the car has tinted windows, de-tangoed front indicators and side repeaters. The wing mirrors have been colour coded (not sure if I like that… kind of takes the RSness away). It did have white/clear rear lights but I hated them and swapped the originals back in as soon as I got home (personally I think they looked chavy). She's got white Ralliart mudlfaps (would prefer red but better than nowt). She also has OEM Mitsubishi rain gaurds which I love because they are nice and small and blend in with the tint. The car has a a OEM GSR front bumper complete with fogs (I prefer this bumper… looks better than the RS bumper in my opinion and fogs are nice to have). The car has a cheapy private plate but I want to get some new ones made (standard set up) as I don't like the font(again chavy) and it has the previous owners nick name on the bottom.
The car also has evo VIII wheels which I'm not too keen on (I don't think they suit the V)… I'm thinking of buying some 18" Revolution Milleniums in either white or gunmetal.

So all in all I'm pretty chuffed. There are a few changes I want to make but I'm very happy with what I've bought and I feel the car has bags of potential.

OK here are a couple of crappy pics I took with my camera-phone. I've not washed it since I had her and I've gone through a tank and a half of petrol… so she aint the cleanest! haha. I will detail her and take some decent pics in a nice spot, with my SLR. Guess these pics will do for now.

Feel free to pass good or bad comments  :D

Cheers,

Karl

PS. The Bailey sticker in the rear window needs to go too.
