Was it gloss or emulsion?  Emulsion should come off if soaked with warm water.  If gloss try turps as this should not affect your car paint.

Whatever you use try it on an inconspicuous area first!

I had some paint thrown over my car ages ago - I'm sure it was cellulose thinners I used. Use sparingly though as if you rub the same place long enough, you will start to see your cloth turning red!

Got it all off though - every last bit!

cellulose thinners will indeed remove most stuff, but also your cars paint as well, so beware. It's quite a powerful chemical, and you can do a lot of damage. I speak from experience having used it to remove tar from paintwork on an old car of mine, and really messing the paint up in the process. Luckily it was only a metro

Whatever you do, do it soon, as the paint probably hasn't had time to fully dry yet so should be easier to remove. Leave it 2 weeks or so and it'll be more difficult.
