Calling Cards

Calling Cards

Would it be an idea in view of some of us seeing MK1 golfs around and about our local area to get some calling cards printed. We could keep these in our daily drivers and if we see one parked anywhere we could leave one (a card that is) under the wiper - I know of a few other clubs that do this and it does work. Not saying everyone who gets one of these cards will join but it will be a start plus if they want to sell it they may give us a try first.

Could do it one of two ways :

1. Prepare one for us to download and print out (preferably on white card)
2. Get some printed (won't cost much at all) and circulate them to those who want them.

I have seen a couple of GTIs in East Yorkshire - maybe they are amongst us but if not then lets get them on board :D

Any thoughts??

Would stickers also help for existing members, so you can identify one another?

We were thinking about this idea over the last few days, but…..
There are 16 Mk1 Cabs (including our 2) and 4 'tin tops'in and around the town where we live, and ages ago I produced a small laminated 'business' card with our phone No. and a few words about forming a local club, forming a register, and inclusion on our web site. We left these on windscreens, gave them to the couple of people who actually spoke and showed interest………..not one of them has been in touch !!!!

It's a pity, but they don't seem interested, we do get the occassional wave and flash of headlights, but it appears that the cars are just cars to them !!! They do not realise what they have got, and really it shows in how they look after them (or rather don't). There is only one car, a black Gti tin top, that we see regularly, but he is always going in the wrong direction and has been very illusive, just cannot find him parked anywhere, and it's immaculate.

In theory the calling card is a good idea, we need to publicise the Register as much as possible, but other than collecting registration numbers and locations (is this legal ??)….

We should also think about a proper logo, and a windscreen sticker (like CGTI), but obviously this will cost……

Well, that's our penny's worth…

I think a car sticker is a great idea, there seems to be plenty of companies on the net: http://www.abalabels.co.uk/prices_window_stickers.htm as an example. Would of thought we could get them a bit cheaper somewhere though.

Cheers,

Jon.

I'm no artist! How about people design a card, upload it to the pictures section and we have a vote on the best design?

Be good to include a simple logo that would work as a sticker too.

Over to all you picassos out there with photoshop!

Cheers,

Drew.

You got me.
When Pete told me about this, I though great, I would really enjoy to do that.
Anyway here are a few offerings…

Any feedback welcome.
I would be happy to elaborate on any ideas.
