i dont think ashes is as good as life on mars what you lot think

Ashes to ashes. Although it is a VERY close call.

I think Sam was a far better character than Alex. I can't be doing with the whole, "oh I need to get home for my daughter's birthday" patter, however, for me, the script is superb, the way they have developed the characters (and continue to do so) is brilliant, but most of all - its the 80s! The cars, the music, the girls, the political incorrectness, its just so addictive. And I'd say that Hunt is better than ever in the new series. The writters seem to have actually worked out what people liked about the series and made it even better.

Just waiting for the first Mk1 GTI to complete the series!

Ashes to ashes isn't as good as life on Mars storyline wise, but the 80's music and cars do it for me.

nice car that… the continuity of the program is a bit out though, as in the quattro itself isnt as original as it should have been when the program was set

but other than that its a brilliant program… confusing storyline for me though (brain having been rotted by heavy metal and YouTube)

I agree with Mick here,i just love it for the music and cars!

I dont think they can be compared really, same basis for a storyline but very different in how they have been done

Both are superb in their own right imo

and Alex has a certain more "appeal" than John simm :wink:

I missed last weeks episode, so i watched it last night on BBC four and saw the first MK1 golf. About 10 minutes from the end when they are talking to some prostitutes, then speed off in the Audi to look for a white Ford Escort, there is a metalic blue MK1 parked on the left.
I think i need to get out more. :roll:

yep they all see it last week how sad are we  who cares the escort got more viewing than the golf  :dontknow:  i like mk2 escorts thou

have to say i much prefer life on mars although the audi is great, it was on ebay a little while ago the acctual on from the ashes to ashes series, don't know what it made,

but haven't really been watching ashes to ashes i kinda get the feeling that they should have left it at life on mars.
