Car Hood Repair

Hi. I have a Golf Gti Cabrio in white with a white hood. all original.

unfortunately a tear has appeared in the headliner underneath the passenger sun visor where the bends into the channel.

any advise on people who might have had similar problem or people who can repair this as its still the original hood

I very much doubt it's the original roof as the vinyl roof goes hard, cracks and shrinks over time, about 7 years is the life span of a vinyl roof. New white roofs are £200 ish not fitted and most of the replacements are made to the original spec so I would not worry about fitting a new roof.
New headliners are available but the top and pad have to be removed to change the inner roof headliner.

White roofs also go cream ish colour over time. I've owned my 1988 white cabriolet since it was 6 years old and that did have its original roof, and I'm about to fit its 5th roof but my cars a daily and has always lived outside.
