Pirelli P-Slot Restoration

Hi all, I need some advice on restoring P-Slots.

I'm trying to locate a top notch alloy wheel refurbishing company - preferable around north London, but I don't mind travelling if it gets the job done properly.

I want the wheels restored to their completely original condition, which means black inset P's slots and black Pirelli logos on the centre cap.

I'm having difficultly finding anyone who is willing to do this. So far I've tryed KO Alloys in Cheshunt, and Pristine Alloys in Milton Keynes.

Has anyone had a set done recently?

just had my p slots refurbed but i'm in the north east it cost me ?260 quid for 5 wheels and they were knackered one needed new bits of lip welding on! i got mine all silver as they wanted an extra ?70 to paint in the black! but they still look well sweet……… bit dirty mind.

I had mine done by Spit & Polish, but they wouldn't do the black in the P's so I did that myself :)

..based in Gillingham, they have vans going everywhere picking up / delivering to garages etc…getting the Clipper wheels done later this year, but taking the wheels to them as they are 'just up the road'. Have seen some of their work and it's spot on….

I can highly recommend Lepsons too   5 minute drive from me :D  I had a few sets of alloys refurbed by them including a set of P slots done by them a few years back, black P`s an all they looked spot on.

as for the centre caps, if they are plastic ones? they can spray them but i expect you will have to paint the logos black yourself, its easy to do all the centre caps yourself to be fair

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to call all the suggested places when I get a chance. Out of curiosity does anyone know how they were done originally. I can't work out if the black went on first or the silver???

i imagine the silver would go on first then mask it off and paint in the black.

they'll have had a stencil that sits into the p's 1-2mm on the front and another on the rear to stop over spray. silver on baked then black to finish and baked again.

That's what I thought, but one place has told me they would powdercoat in black then machine the surface back to the alloy. I didn't really like the sound of that as it would never match the plastic centre cap properly.

thats just silly. and very lazy. what the may do is spray black round the outer endge (i.e in the p's) then machine just that area before spraying silver but as the back does'nt come right to the edge of the p-slot it wont look right.

I sent Lepsons an email but as yet no reply. I'll call them tomorrow as they sound pretty good and if they've done them before they'll know what to do.

I called Lepsons and Spit and Polish today, but neither would do the two-tone colour. Arggg…back to square one. I've been told to try a bodyshop, has anyone had their wheels restored at a bodyshop?
