pierburg pumps

are they known to be loud? mine seems very loud for some reason, it appears to work ok but then im getting a misfire prob today and just wondered if they were related.

Had a pierburg im my last golf.Bought it new and they do sound louder than the bosch unit.Never had a problem with it though.
