carb air filter

Hi got my first golf last week{1990 1.8 golf clipper}can anyone tell me what kind of carb would be on it?looking to get a better bolt on air filter if any1 has any ideas?thanks

The original carb would probably have been a Pierburg 2E2.  However, by now many of these are likely to have been replaced by a Weber 32/24 DMTL with a manual choke.  Post up a picture of the carb and we can tell you which one it is.
