mk1 gti cuts out at 1200 rpm

ive got a bit of a problem with my mk1 gli cabby..it cut out on me as i was driving home..towed it back thought it was fuel pump so i changed that it wasnt lol..could start the car and it ran smoothly as slowly increased the throttle and as soon as it hits 1200 rpm it just goes dead  no spluttering or backfiring..i left it for few weeks while i went on holiday…got back to work on it and it wont even start now :banghead: ..pretty sure its electrical as i have tested the injectors and they are delivering the right amount of fuel but after that i havent a clue..any answers are  appreciated

Fuel pump relay maybe ?  You can remove the relay and bridge two terminals on the fuse board to check (sorry - you'd have to work out which were the main feed / output terminals). This will make the pump run all the time so you can see if it starts/runs.
Good luck with it,
Mark

Could be your coil.
Have you got a rev limiting rotor arm? Could be that…Spring could be broken or something?!?!  :dontknow:
