Drivers side rear Indicator stopped working.....

Morning lads,

Car is a 1983 Tintop.

The driver?s side rear indicator has stopped working.

Everything else is working OK

I replaced the bulb, no joy, thinking it was the light board, I tried the passenger side rear one (which I know is working) and no joy.

I checked the earths in the rear boot and under the slam panel ? no joy.

I presume the indicator stalk is OK as the drivers side front indicator is working OK.

I presume that the hazard light switch is OK as the other 3 indicators are working.

Another issue, which may or may not be related, is that when I press the brake pedal, the passenger side front side-light comes on. The brakes switch is a sirocco unit mounted on the steering column.

Everything was working OK up to this point.

Any ideas of what next to check next, much appreciated.

Thanks, Michael

Faulty rear brake / side light bulb

The driver?s side rear indicator has stopped working.

Bulb holder , centre pin that bulb sits on will be bent and not making a contact .

Checked last night - bulb is seating ok and making good contact with centre pin, but still no joy….

Brake light bulb faulty, so side light issue sorted with new bulb.

Gonna buy a multimeter tester, but not exactly what to do with it :dontknow:  I suppose stick it in wire at rear of bulb holder and see if I get reading?
