Try turning it down!!!

Sorry, you asked for it though.

What's making the noise exactly? It's hard to tell from the post. I suppose the only real answer is to play it loud and put your hand on everything one at a time until it stops, then you'll know where it's coming from. If it's the boot lid then a new rubber seal might be the answer. They do shrink over time reducing the effectiveness of the union. End of the day, trial and error. So as not to annoy anyone, find an open space and start testing it out.

dynomat = pants down big tub of lube cus it will cost u an arm n leg to do the whole boot! homebase do stuff called flashing tape, bout 15quid for 16odd metres, and is exactly the same as dynomat, it is a tar based thing with like tinfoil ontop, you heat your metal up with a hot air gun or paint stripper gun thing gwet it nice and warm peal of the backing on the tape stuff and lay it down using a roller to get all the air out! when it cools down it shrinks and clamps the metal hard reducing flex and annoying rattels. trust me dont buy dynomat its expensive, my mate done his WHOLE mk1 golf in it and he must of spent near on 800quid ish, i dont the WHOLe of my mk1 golf in dynomat must of spent over the period of doing nearly 100quid, and to be honest before i stripd all my interior out and when i was running 2x1000watt pioneer amps 2 15inch rockford fossgate subs and front and rear components, i had hardly any rattels at all and people said my system sounded better then my mates.

the other thing that could be ratteling is your number plate on the outside i used to get this, this took me a while to figure out, and also my back window used to rattle to.

i always have the last laugh ;)
