AirBag LEDs

I have a '92 Rabbit Californian Spec. It has Two LEDs for the Airbag when the ignition is turned on and they both go out after a few seconds.

At least they did do until the battery was disconnected, I now only have one LED the one on the left working. Is there a way to reset something so that the LED works again.

Better still does anyone have an explanation for the two LEDs my user manual is in German.

I thought that if u disconnected the battery that u wouldneed to get module reset by VW?
Usually the case with all airbaged cars but interesting to find out
