2 types of dizzy?
thought I could get my car back on the road after a week of it off and tired legs…but no!!!! Found the dizzy I got has a different connection electrical connection
Can I modify this dizzy with that connection or do I need a completely different one? If so, has anyone got the right distributor?

But, for later cars with electronic ignition and a hall sender in the dizzy, yes there's two types, which differ by the connector - one is oval, one is rectangular. I'm not sure if its just the connection, or whether there's other differences too (like, amount of advance per vacuum or mechanically, etc). Also I'm pretty sure (not 100% though) that GTIs have a different dizzy than non-GTI, due to different advance characteristics.
Can you find the wiring with the oval connector and splice it in, or bodge the wiring in some other way to get it running?
