Where can I find my 93 Cabby's paint code?

Post

I'm looking for some replacement paint. According to the cabby-info.com site (which is a fantastic resource) my paint code is Alpine White 'L90E'. But when the bloke at the store enters that into his database there are about 8 different L90Es (L90E Darker, L90E Lighter, L90E Yellow Tinge, etc).

I've looked at the vehicle plate in the engine bay put it has no useful info. There arnt any info plates in the door jams either. Would anyone know what exact paint code my car would be (1993 Cabriolet) or where I can find that info?

Thanks!

Have you got the original info sticker in the boot?
The service book, if you have it, may have the info sticker in the front.

The 1993 Alpine white was L90E/P1; was that an option?
Available for the Cabrio, Corrado and Passat in 1993 apparently.

Not sure if that helps.

The paint code on my Rivage is on the sticker showing the spec codes on the rear beam support inside the boot. It says C5NL. When I went to get some mixed for touch up, I was given several to choose from. The L indicates that it is the Light version of the C5N. So I am guessing that if yours is only showing the 3 digit paint code then that is the paint code, otherwise the next letter depicting a variant of that shade would also be there.. If you don't have the sticker in the boot anymore, then VW customer services might be able to help if they keep records of stuff like that.. It's worth a pig in a poke chance.
