Colour Coding?
Morning all, Happy Friday!
Got some new wheels for my red Cabby so I will have to paint the front calipers as you can see them now. Anyone suggest a good colour to suit a red cabriolet, any diverse coloured ones already out there? Was thinking red to match but that's a bit OCD I reckon
Any pics will be greatly appreciated
Many Thanks

I did polish a set once and then laquered them with high temp lacquer for stoves.
Lasted about 6 months!
Ended up painted black for subtlety in the end.
What colour are the wheels?
Have you considered yellow to really shout it out?

Wheels are standard alloy silver, yellow may be a shout or like, there is a powder coating business round the corner from me, might see if they can help me out! Thanks

I painted a brand new set of calipers red on my Mk1 Scirocco with the Halfords brake caliper paint, wish I didn't as it easly chips off if you knock them and lots of paint chipped of when I came to replace the pads. Waste of time and money!
They looked good until I drove the car!

They look good Mark, shame the paint let you down, might just clean them up and leave it as is but if the guy round the corner can powder coat them it may be an option depending on cost. Not put the wheels on yet so don't know how they going to look!

It's been 7 years since I did them and they looked ok for about 2 years. Power coating may be your best option if you want it to last.

Was going to overhaul the rear brakes today and fit the new wheels but got a wheel bearing problem so had to order one so cant progress it. The new alloys are too large for the axle, can you get spacers to fit?

Good thing about powder coat is it last longer but if it chips you can't touch it up.
Enamel paint seems to chip really easily, I'd go with hammerite or normal paint tbh. Just stay on top of them
When you say that the wheels are too big for the axle, I'm going to assume that you mean the centre bore of the wheel. If so you will need spigot rings. Loads on eBay but you will need the size if the centre bore on your wheels
