Where can I get a reliable fuel lifter pump from?

Post

I've only been able to find these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/200691149226  and have bought 2 in as many years. They've both died pretty quickly. Does anyone know where I could get a more reliable lifter pump?

Not a subject expert but I'd be asking myself why I'm knackering them at a rate of one per year?  :o
Cr~p in the tank?
And don't ask me how often you have to do that!

You may find you can still get an original from VW most likely in Europe as it was fitted on a range of later models.

Of course the original part number would be extremely helpful.

I think it may have been a bad battery terminal connection that caused them, but I'm not sure why that would matter if they're protected by a fuse (shouldn't that protect them from high fluctuations?)

Tanks was drained by a mechanic about 2 years ago too.

I've got the same one as in your link and it's been fine for 6 years and 60,000 miles in my daily drive.
I keep my fuel tank above 1/4 as low fuel level will not help with the life of the pump as the petrol will help keep it cool.

Another make if you want to try it??

if its been wired properly its already on a fuse same one as the main pump. the pump itself is the same as mk2 golf so plenty out there.

it should have a small mesh filter on the end though
