Fuel Distributor Metering Head 0 438 100 100

Afternoon folks,

After being sat on a driveway for the last 6 years, AVX 230X is coming back out of retirement (now the kids are slightly older and I've got some money spare).  So far, its been back to go through it MOT, which it pretty much done, except for one tiny issue.  When they went to do an emissions test, AVX decided to leak fuel everywhere

A trip to an engine specialist (www.spotautos.co.uk/ in Derby) and a good sort later, everything is now back in order and the engine is coming back with a 12,000 mile warranty.  Next slight problem then is that the engine is running far too rich as the metering head is duff.

So, I'm after: a fuel metering head for a 1981 GLi, bosch part code 0 438 100 100 (as far as I can tell).

Anyone have one?  My other option is to have it refurbished with APT Electronics (www.aptelectronics.co.uk), has anyone dealt with these guys?  The refurb is £337.50 ex vat.
