MK1 Golf Cup Holders

Are you fed up of spilling boiling coffee into your lap? - Well i was so i designed this!

ITS Finally HERE! a Mk1 Golf cup holder!  (Also includes two Free key rings and a hangy mirror thing!)

Now then, lets be honest - this is a case of working with what we have so this has been designed to fit into the recess behind the gear stick - it looks great and its practical! - i have been using one for a while now and its not let me down yet.

It holds all normal 330ml cans and smaller, re-usable cups, your standard 12oz coffee cups fit although at a slight angle because of the overhang of the dash but they fit fine, BUT its not going to realistically hold one of those stupidly massive 16oz cups of coffee OR a big can of monster energy drink! - it will hold them fine - its just that the gear stick will hit the top of the can when you go into 3rd gear.

These have been cut on my small laser cutter at home and are made from 4mm Birch Plywood.

I cut them out and pop them out of the sheet of wood then the rest is over to you!

There will be some little splinter bits that need sanding off on the rear part of the wood (literally a 5 second job) and there may be some smoke marks from the laser that you may or may not wish to sand off - depends what look your going for i suppose.

As its a light birch wood it will paint very well, works well with bees wax polish etc and will look super rustic and vintage in your classic car!

Its very easy to assemble - photos are included of how its assembled and i recommend you use a standard PVA wood glue as it will dry clear.

I used mine for a week without even sticking it in, you will want to ideally stick this in with that thick foam double sided tape stuff you get in hardware stores, - you might need to double stack the foam tape if your dash has warped with age.
