1983 Mk1 Golf 1.5 GL Auto in metallic Papyrus Green. White vinyl hood, beige/brown interior.

72k miles from new, with stacks and stacks of service history dating back to 1983. I have pretty much every service bill from new and the initial order form and receipt.

The car is in its original factory colour, the roof, interior etc is all as it was when it left the factory. The GL spec is one of my favourite specs in the old VWs, due to the tweed and beige / brown goodness.

The roof was replaced in 2012 as well as the car having a full external respray. The cars had a new passenger wing and rear panel in 2012. I have hundreds of pics of the car through the various stages.

It was owned by one family from new and all the service history receipts have the same surname on them to show this. The v5 shows the car as 4 owners.

In 2011 a mk1 enthusiast bought it and carried out the respray, replaced the roof and fitted some coilovers.

I bought the car off him in 2015 and added my own touches and carried out the following:

Retrimmed a pair of front recaros in VW GL fabric (I would prefer to keep these and have the original front seats to go back in, but I can leave them in if it's a deal breaker)

Fitted chrome waist line trims, stainless steel small bumpers (not cheap chrome ones), had a full new exhaust fitted, full service including cambelt, tensioner and water pump. It's had a new sump gasket too.

I've fitted some oz turbos in mega rare et15 spec with excellent tyres. These have black centres, good boots and I believe they are 7.5j.

Ive also fitted Postie rear lights, Wolfsburg three spoke brown steering, new chrome aerial, replacement a pillar gutter trims, chrome metal door handles and hella fuel cap. Original spec supplying dealer number plates and loads more!

The car has been under sealed in the arches and underneath. It was very clean before this and the inner arches have been painted when the car was done in 2011.

There's allot I have missed out I'm sure, but in summary the car drives spot on, cruises all round the country and doesn't skip a beat.

It's a perfect daily / weekend / summer car and I really will miss it, but I've just bought a rare spec mk2 that I want to now concentrate on and I could do with some garage space back.

The car can come on the plastic bumpers instead, I can also refit the original door handles, rear lights, alloys, front seats, steering  etc etc to bring the price down should someone want to add their own touches.

I am in Leicester. The car has MOT until early 2017 and is currently SORN, but I'm more then happy to tax it etc for a test drive for serious buyer
