Description:

Car has been off the road since August 2019 due to worn gearbox bearings. more on that below.

Exterior has a few dents and scratches but all the panels are straight and rust free, one area requirering attention rust wise is the passenger quarter panel under the black decal which shows some surface rust, but no holes. The previous owner did a small welding repair on the sills near the rear wheels which could do with some tidying. There is also a questionable repair of a dent on the bonet, but can be fixed quite easilly.
The car olso had a few paint touch ups done here and there which were not done to the highest of standards, however it is an honest car that does not require an immidiate full respray.
The alloys are in good shape exept for the passenger front which has some heavy curbing, but I supply a spare alloy in excellent condition with the car.
Underside of the car does not show any signs of rust anywhere, overall the bodyshell is in very good condition.

Interior wise, the driver seat as a few small tears in the center of the base and one of the bolster is torn, but the rest is in excellent condition. The parcel shelf is damaged and did not come from this car originally (different color). Unfortunatly the stock steering wheel was replaced by the previous owner for this rather sad looking small momo wheel. Dashboard is in very good condition but is missing the ashtray.

Mechanically the car needs a little work, mainly the gearbox as one of the bearings went bad and is very noisy, i stopped driving it to not make it worse. I actually supply with the car a 5 speed box from an mk3 Polo with a custom mount to get it in (mount came from another golf with the same gearbox swap) I just did not have the time to do it myself due to many other car projects taking priority.

Engine runs fine, however the fuel hoses near the tank have now perished so the fuel system gets unprimed overnight.
The rear tires need replacing, they have plenty of thread but the side walls are dry rotted and do not hold air for more than a few days.
Other than that the clutch, suspenssion and brakes work as they should.

As the car has no MOT and a broken gearbox it will have to be trailered or transported.
I do not have the full V5 but i do have the new keeper slip, so getting a new V5 should not be a problem.

I'm trying to be has honest as possible here, It's not a show car by any stretch of the imagination but it's a nice little golf that only need a little mechanical work to be a nice fun daily driver.
