Description:
VIN 175315 gives this car an approximate build date of Oct/Nov 1974 (according to http://swallowtail.info/). One of the earliest surviving Mk1 golfs in the country and an original RHD UK car.

Car was local to the area and still has original sticker from dealer (Peter Moon from St. Lenoards).  I have owned for 25 years plus and all of that time it has been garaged, so will need a proper going through.  Mileage is believed accurate, and I knew the two former owners prior to me (again local to the area and limited use).  Car was at one time repainted the original colour and while the job was not bad for the time, there are some areas of light rust now.

Nice blue fabric interior.  I believe almost everything is original to the car and complete, minus the radio (there is a very slim chance I can locate this).  If anyone has one, please let me know.  A couple of the side trim pieces are off the car, but I believe I have them all.
Car has the four speed, with the shift diagram on the ashtray, the rear parcel shelf with the X cross member.  I will get more photos loaded soon and confirm more info (not sure if there is the insulation under the bonnet yet, or front drum brakes for example).

Only selling because I lost my storage space and now live in America (no it’s not a scam and my family is all still in the UK and can show the car).
Does not currently have SORN, but I am working on that.  Please e-mail me again questions, again I will update as I get more info.

Would love this to go to an enthusiast and am putting on here before listing on epay!  Yes it will need some work, but how many opportunities are there like this.

Quick update - a few folks have reached out and asked about price…. I am honestly not sure, I know there is value in it and hoping maybe some members can chime in and give me an idea, I want something that is fair and good for both parties.  It's solid, but still a project and will need work - to answer another question it has not run in something like 20 years, so the engine etc may require a tear down and rebuild, or you might get lucky with some TLC.  I am having my brother get more photos (including the underside) in the next couple of days and will post when I have.  In some ways the photos attached probably make it look better than it is (although they were taken yesterday).  There is surface rust on the front wings and the front chrome bumper looks like its peeling…. again I will get more photos posted asap.  In the meantime, I have posted some photos of the shocks that my brother took yesterday.  Does seem to have the rear window defrost, which I thought one this early would not have?

Couple more updates; Car was apparently first registered in Eastbourne, not Hastings as I thought and no window sticker from dealer (that must have been my 66 bug; sorry).  Appears to have no insulation under bonnet and not sure about the brakes still.  V. cool seat belt design.  Will hopefully post more pictures of underside etc on Monday/Tuesday.
