Description:
For sale is a MK1 Golf Cabriolet Sportline 1.8 8v in red. I'm selling for a friend who's currently in Australia and his uncle (they co-own it, and his uncle is visually impaired, hence me helping him out advertising it).

The car has 2 previous owners, and it was last bought from a close family friend and had been in the local area all its life. When my friend and his uncle bought the car it at on the drive for a while untouched whilst they figured out what to do with it (the head gasket was blown and it had no MOT). Eventually they decided to put money into fixing it and the head gasket was replaced, the head was skimmed at this time too, also the valves were checked and tested. At the same time it received a new cambelt and a full service (plugs, leads, oil, coolant, air filter, oil filter etc.). Once it was up and running again they got an MOT on it and since then it's been driven plenty. A few more minor issues became apparent through driving it and as a result it's had a new rear silencer, new discs and pads up front, all new Bilstein shocks on each corner and new tyres up front. There was a small tear in the driver's side Recaro but it's been professionally stitched by an upholsterer and the interior is mint. There's no bolster wear on either seat and the door cards and dash are mint as well as the seats. They would benefit from a clean but they're in fantastic condition aside from that. Being a Sportline it comes with the BBS Ra allies which are in good condition despite their age and the fact they've never been refurbed. It also has a leather steering wheeled obviously the red and black Recaro interior.

As you'll be able to see from the pictures the bodywork isn't in too great condition. Structurally the car is sound there's no rot anywhere and no rust at all from what we can tell (the kit hasn't been off). The rear bumper is hanging at a slant and is cracked, plus it's suffering from some bad lacquer peel so could do it being replaced. the front numberplate surround is white and will been painting. There's a scrape on the O/S rear quarter panel near the door shut. The roof isn't in great condition and it does leak under hard rain due to rips and tears, so this will need replacing.

If there's anything you would like to know or anything I may have missed you can message me on here, however to would be best to call or the text the mobile number above, or phone the landline failing that. They're numbers for my friend's uncle who will be able to help.
