Description: Award winning 1983 Golf GTI Campaign the subject of a 4/5 year labour of love bare metal total nut and bolt restoration by Steve Cuthbert, the car was to be Steve's but business commitments forced its sale.
I have over 150 photos of all the work carried out.
The shell is the original and never welded, the seats and dash are also the originals,
The wings, doors, tailgate, petrol tank, lights, glass, rubber seals, carpets, door trims, rear quarter trims as well as numerous other parts are all new items.

A TSR 2.1 Engine is fitted with Stage 4 head, racing pistons and a stainless 4-2-1 exhaust manifold which is wrapped. The engine still retains the original cam which makes the car very easy to drive with great torque. It still looks standard under the bonnet.

KW Coilovers with Eibach springs and anti roll bars are fitted front and rear together with front and rear strut braces, the car is also fully polybushed.

There is a TSR large disc brake conversion to the front with a larger 16 valve servo fitted.

The larger brakes mean the standard 14 inch Pirelli ‘P’ slot wheels no longer fit so 15 inch G60 Steel wheels are now fitted.

The paintwork on the car is absolutely fantastic and no photos can do it justice!

At the 2018 M4 Classic Car Show the car won 'Car of the Show'

In 2019 At the MK1 Golf Owners Club Annual Gathering, the first time the car attended this event it was awarded
'Best Paintwork'  and 'Best GTI'

It does not have the chrome tailpipe in the attached photo anymore but a stainless steel standard size one, it also has the correct GTI centre in the steering wheel.

There are far more things I have missed on this car.

The car is being sold due to relocation and will be placed at my friends garage next week, where he will be able to provide part exchange and finance options.

Regreted sale please no timewasters
