Hi i have for sale my much beloved mk1 golf cabriolet 1.8 petrol automatic transmission.
Ive owned this car almost 4 years, and set to work on it immediately going through every part of it, replacing what was necessary. And in a lot of cases unnecessary to replace.
It has had the oil dropped and semi synthetic oil and new oil filter every 2000 miles regardless of wether it needed it or not and a new inline fuel filter if it got dirty at all.
Its done 121.000 miles which for a 31 year old car isent much at all .but its had a full top end rebuild less than 200 miles ago.

With new head stretch bolts.
Fully blasted and powder coated engine sump. Then refitted with brand new sump gasket and new sump bolts.
I never touched the bottom end as after the upgrades I'd done it dynod at 105bhp.
Which is amazing, when you think this car is a G plate 1990
And left the factory with 88bhp.
So to get 105bhp 30 years later is testament to the build quality and also all the upgrades its had from me .
Its an automatic with a great kickdown from the weber. If you check the figures online there is only 11 mk1 golf cabriolet 1.8 automatics on the uk roads which makes this quite a rare vehicle.
The auto box has worked flawlessly and has had fluid changes were necessary.
This car was my daily driver for 2 years,  until i decided to do the cylinder head work. So i bought a little honda civic and kept this tucked away in my nice dry garage .
The roof has been completely re-dyed black with pro pigment dye, and sealed with the sealer from the same company, its in great condition. So i didnt replace it .
Its a manual roof .and im glad .
As ive read of many issues with the auto roof.
Now for the interior it has the full mk1 golf sportline interior by recaro .these are very rare and expensive, i have seen this interior alone advertised in used condition for well over £2000, it includes 2 x front recaro seats rear recaro bench seat 2 x front door cards and 2 x rear cards. Whenever ive seen a mk1 either tin top or cabriolet they always have the sort of crossed stripe tartan interior. Ive never seen another with full sportline interior .except in an actual mk1 golf gti sportline which are the top of the line .in terms of mk1 golfs.
So a fabulous asset to the car. And complements its paprika red bodywork and black roof perfectly. Check out pictures of other  mk1 golfs and youll see from the interior pictures that the interior colour seems to have no correlation with the colour of the car .this suits perfectly.
Mine also has a black headliner instead of the standard white .which again the white doesn't go with the interior of the vehicle.
I also have a tonneau for the cabriolet roof when its down, its black and in excellent condition. Not all of them have one .makes it much neater as a convertible.
It also has brand new Sony head unit with Bluetooth and mp3 etc. Although i do have the original tape deck head unit which can be supplied with it.
It has 4 x new quality speakers front and back i think they are sonys if i remember rightly to replace the ageing tinny vw ones.
On the rear shelf below the rear window i had a custom made mat for it with red trim to match the interior and also the car mats which were custom made.
It has custom made stainless steel sill runners with the word cabriolet on them. As you open the front doors just as a nice touch.
It has the original steering wheel dashboard etc.   Which is in good condition however its not perfect. Some idiot put 4 small screw holes in the lower dash .i assume to fit a mobile phone holder .there annoying but not noticable.
It has new chrome window winders x 4 as the original plastic ones were no good.and kept breaking,
I have fully removed the interior. Professionally cleaned it with an upholstery cleaner. And also fully cleaned the interior carpet by the same method while the interior was removed.
The bolsters are good and it looks like the rear bench seat has barely been sat in.
On to the wheels they are the original 15 inch BBS ra wheels from factory with new silver centre caps to match, as previously said they are covered with almost new Nankang Ns2 tyres all round.
It has a single headlight conversion with brand new headlights and Philips top quality bulbs .as the twin headlights do nothing for me, its also got a badgeless front grill.
So when i started this project the bodywork was far from perfect. But i thought mechanicals first .no point it looking pretty and running rubbish, so over 3k has gone into getting it mechanically sound, so thats why ive left the bodywork till the last .as i wanted it mechanically sound before i started to make it look pretty .
Fast forward to now before i had chance to start the bodywork ive started my own business powder coating and refurbishment. And i have taken the heart wrenching decision to part with my golf to fund it. So in conclusion it will come fully serviced with a full 12 month mot. Absolutely mechanically sound. But will need the bodywork starting to get it perfect .

If your interested please let me know
I paid £3k 4 years ago and have put another £3k in it. Your getting a car thats had pretty much everything done .except the bodywork. All the panels are original, so no poorly fitting pattern parts to deal with.
Not sure where to price it to be perfectly honest. And comments will be appreciated
