Where to buy standard suspension

Post

After a solid 4 years away, with my most recent post apparently being over 1,450 days ago(!) I've decided that now's the time to start planning my Golf's return to roadworthy - whether or not I end up selling, remains to be seen…

Anyhoo, I've currently got some rather tired lowered springs/dampers which, whilst looking good in terms or ride height, rather take away from the low-spec standard body roll loveliness. I've been trying to source standard suspension, or a good quality alternative that's as close to, for a couple of months or so - the only set up I've found is from VW heritage, but is close to £500 for the set.

Can't help but feel that's a tad steep for stock shocks/springs - does anyone know of a reliable brand/source that can help? Before I go in a strop and sell the thing!

Gabriel or monroe cartridges and springs with rubber shock dampers and mounts shouldn't be about right.

Strut Cartridges for the rear you would need to look at the spring perches….

Same for the front.

If you have a auto parts store chain they maycks be cheaper for the strut cartridges, and the mounts as well as the associated bit.  The Springs are probably be a werks34 or vwheritage thing.

over here we can get a front mount and bump stop dust cover in a kit for about 25 bucks USD.

There is also ebay and amazon.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

I'm in the process of replacing a Coilover setup on my Cabby. (it's not that old  a setup actually)  I sourced new Rear Shocks from Euro Car Parts but they don't list Fronts. However GSF do.
