What are our cars worth

Hello all

I need to fill in the agreed value form for my Golf Gti and haven't got a clue what it is worth at present. The insurer that of me they won't take into account the price of my mods - power steering and hydraulic clutch which is a shame as if I had to replace the car due to total loss I would need to pay for these mods again as I am disabled. 

My car is a 1983 very good condition all original except for the mods mentioned above. 
I have been out of the scene for a while and lost touch if the market value, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd ask the insurer if they have an approved or preferred valuation site.

If not just find something similar for sale.

If it's a clean original GTI with no mods then I'd find something similar, add the cost of the required mods that you need say £1500 and thell them that value.

At a rough guess I'd say anywhere between 6k and 9k with mods taken into account.
