Was there a Mk1 Golf GTI Cabriolet 'Triple White model'

Post

Am viewing a nice cabby on flae bay but its tittle is a @Triple White Model' and I do not remember ever hearing of that as a model!
Its 1985 and the bumpers and snowflake wheels are all painted the same as the bodywork. Is this a tart up by someone? or did that model exist?
Thanks.
Marcus.

The All White was a 1985 model

The brochure shows the car without Scala wheels but I'm sure they came with them at some point.

Yes I owned two triple whites,  a 89 and a 90, and let me tell you after having 6 white tops on my cars, 2 were on 90's one Blue and one Green they are a pain in the posterior to keep clean.  I am glad I changed the interiors and the hood to be other than white.

Gimme triple black any day. :)

I thought the Triple white looked slightly different for 2 years either 83 & 84 or 84 & 85.

The 1st year started with single headlight grille & Tarantula alloys & the latter with twin headlight grille & zandvoort alloys…  both had the same interior seating with striped inners & plain white bolsters.

Also white bumpers standard.

Thanks for all that info guys:).

To be honest Briano hmakes a good point in that white is a real nightmare to keep clean. Was a nice car though…

It's easier to clean a white car compared to a black or dark blue car, you don't have to worry to much about water marks compared to dark coloured cars…
In the winter I don't even bother drying my white car, just a quick wipe down of the windows.

I believe they were mixed and matched a little more than the brochures will lead you to believe because they do come with tarantula wheels but with twin headlight grilles as well.

I've got a triple black and interiors in both the blacks and whites will be completely shot by now as the ribs in the fabric fall apart over time

Here is mine the day I got it
