It's going to be nigh on impossible to give a rough value without seeing lots of pictures and a detailed description of condition, whilst the mileage is nice, unless the car is mint and original it can have little bearing on price, there are cars about with 250,000 miles in better condition and need less spending on them than some with 80,000.

CC models did have four lamps, but that is easily fixed, what is difficult and expensive or possibly even impossible to replace are the unique features of CC embossed into the seat fabric and the folding roof.

Engine wise  cars that have been stored away for years can be got running for peanuts - just given a thorough service or may need a rebuild costing £4K.

Being a small bumper model and a CC it can be worth more than a later car in similar condition but they are not the 'holy grail' .

If yiu have more details post up, at least we could see some potential issues for you to haggle over.

Thank you very much, the seats have CC all over them and the roof, it would seem it's just the head lights that have been changed, it's been in a collection for many years so fingers crossed it's all ok

Very rare to find a CC with the original CC embossed vynil hood.
CC. are rare but that doesn’t mean valuable.
Cars are worth the difference in what the seller wants and you’re prepared to pay.

Get some pics up.

Thanks for your advice, I'm just looking for a nice golf convertible I like the big bumper model but a friend has just said he's got one in his barn and I can buy it, he's had it donkeys years which is why I  questioned the headlight layout I'm sure there should be red around the grill, apart from that it's in fantastic condition it's never been in the rain, I'll get some pictures up tomorrow

Sounds nice James.
I fitted a new hood to a CC for one of the members on here.
We had to put a plain blue one on though.
Not a CC one available after all these years.
I’d suggest some 303 Aerospace cleaner and protectant for plastics.
It’ll stop the cumulative from drying and going brittle. Help keep the colour too.

Parts are readily available as the CC is a standard cabby.
Just the trim like the seats, headliner and CC embossed hood are not available any more.

The one on the picture isn’t standard and no the GTi decal isn’t OEM.
Depending on what your version is ie lady sunshine or lady Charme  will dictate to a degree what the interior should be and the wheels it should have from factory.

The Gti stickers on the side are not original, luckily VW did not fit them as they don't look good…
B pillars should be black as well.

I've had another look at this cc  cabriolet  He's happy to sell it to me I'm just  negotiating a price  all it needs is a cam belt and an mot, the only two things I can find wrong are  there is no stereo and the lower drivers bolster has worn and split so I'll need to track down some blue cc fabric, pictures to follow soon.

Not 100% sure you can buy the CC fabric as it was only used in this car and they did not make many?  I could be wrong…

Someone was selling some seat, PM them if they have not been sold already?
