Hi,

Does anyone know what length of cables you need for the front seat tilt mechanism. 1989 golf GTi with cloth recarro seats

Thanks

You can still get replacement cables for them.
or you can make your own.  I have a how do I make my own in the archive section.

The recaro one side is 492mm 191881595A and only uses one cable.

The Sportline seat uses 2 cables
191881595A 370 mm (outside)
and
535881596 765mm (inside)
or
171881596D (inside) 672mm  for the longer.

1989 Gti would just have sport seats as standard, have you changed the seats for the later type fitted to Sportline cabriolet etc?

Post up a picture and we should be able tell what you have.

These are standard VW sport seats which your car would of had fitted.

Thanks for the replies.  standard original seats for the 1989 cabriolet so they must be standard sports sets in grey cloth, have two cable per seat for the recline mechanism.

if it helps for the 84-91 standard cabrio seats they use the same cables as pre-90 mk2 golf, 191881595 and 171881596D
