series one dash - what are these for???

got me stumped, there are bulbs behind them as well

The one on the left is for Ejection seat firing if equipped.

Upper right is for the Lars Rocket launching for getting out of a Traffic Jam, or slow driver.

The lower right is for the REar Oil Spray so the cops can't catch you.

Daft questions but are the lights connected to anything?

A bit obvious I know but that's because I think off hand what they would be for.

Dreaming a bit here but one dash panel fits many models as we know. So possibly one for diesel preheat, one for automatic park, one for active towbar electrics connected. If not used then basic red panel inserts fitted.

Pure fancy of course before someone starts slaging me of!

Or can anyone come up with some tangible answers!

Just out of interest, if you remove the bulbs and hold it up to the light can you see through any of them and do they have symbols in them?
Casting my mind back to when I had a series 1 (I sold it 27 years ago!), and from see other S1's back in the day. I have seen a yellow choke light in the one below the handbrake light. I am sure I've seen a glow plug light in the one below the main beam light but I'm not sure what went below the oil light! Mike hit the nail on the head that that dash fitted many models and was used in different countries that had different equipment that you never saw in the UK.

I just googled "Golf MK1 series one instrument panel" and looked at the images. I was amazed at the different variations!

ahh i get it now

the circuit board has the space for bulbs behind each opening, but it all depends on what switch in in place

the two bulbs below the battery light must have symbols in place when used/wired up for whatever they are as saulty says
