Just a random auction find - NOS Zender Sports

Post

I was minding my own business and I stumbled upon this set of 4 brand new and unmounted Zender Sports manufactured in 1989.

They are in basically as-new condition.
4x100 - 7” ET30. They have all the center caps, TUV booklets, and some mounting stuff that looks incomplete.

I'm tossing up if they're going to be better as a coffee table, lamp shades, or just hanging on the wall....

Anyway, I thought you might enjoy seeing them.

That's you jiggered now!

Better get used to being smitten by all things Zender, it's an addiction.

I'm guessing (hoping) you're just joking about hanging them on the wall… Here's a well known photo of your Sports on a MK1, if that doesn't change your mind you must have cataracts.

They do look amazing…

I'm just struggling with the thought of actually having them mounted since they've made it this many years unused.
I feel like one of those people who has a bunch of toys they won't take out of the boxes .

I also have 2 perfectly good sets of 15" wheels with rubber that I have no plans on letting go.

My thoughts….

If they are going to sit in dark storage, in a box taking up room, sell them on, they are wheels that need to be seen on a car for others to see…

Unless you intend sticking some rubber on them and getting to some shows this year in your mk1 with the wheels fitted as they are made to be wheels then keep them….

That is why I was going to hang them on the wall!

Honestly, when did you last see a new set? Once they're mounted and on a car, they'll never be like this again.
Having just liberated them from 31 years in a box, I don't think it's silly to just enjoy them as they are for a bit.

Also, I live in New Zealand, no one buys this type of thing, I have a set of Mk1 Campaign P Slots on my shelf to prove that point.
