How to spruce up your dash lights for 2 quid.

Hi,
I noticed that on my car, the dash lights hardly did anything. I was considering removing the green filter and lining the light box with tin foil,  but then I decided on LED's.

Bought a super bright 12 led strip from eBay,  let the pics talk.
Firstly I removed the bulbs from their holders.

Then I soldered some wires to the holders

Then some wires to the led strip.

Self adhesive 3m backing held the strip in place

What do you guys reckon?
I left them green for a more oe look and there's a good reason most dash lights are green. They are so much better than before,  and still work with the dimmer

Cheers

Brilliant!
Do you have an item number for the led strip by any chance? The lack of light has always been a niggle that evades me until nightfall and it'd be nice to fix it!

I have done exactly the same only mine are blue  in a set of 16V clocks !! The only downside is that the MFA does not light up well at night

Cheers,
Ade

Cheers, I was pretty pleased! here's the led strip I used-
Check out this item I found on eBay:

End time: Apr 9, 2013 11:09:17 PM

Item: 12 cm 12 led Lighting Strip ultra bright White for model rail building/coach 12v

URL: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=300874112497

Alt URL: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-cm-12-led-Lighting-Strip-ultra-bright-White-model-rail-building-coach-12v-/300874112497

I had to cut the strip in half and slightly overlap the ends,  and trim them a bit as the length was a bit long. Worked fine!

Lhasadreams,  you could always try one of the multi led dash bulbs in there? You can buy smd ones or just ones with 3 square leds coming from the housing. I'll get a link if you want.

looks great, idid one similar with the interior light by putting 2 strips of 3leds in, that worked really well and much brighter and crisper
