A jan 75 golf that's all wrong? Dvla mistake?  Is it a later car wearing an early cars vin? Or has it been rebuilt with all the wrong bits including the front and rear panels, etc etc?
It's had paint as the blower basket is blue…

And yes I know the auction is ended, but I saw it over on retro rides too.

Just when you think it cannot get any further from a Swallowtail:

plate is put on when car is registered in the uk. as its a lhd, its obv not a uk sold car originally

front and rear panel, boot, bumpers etc probably replaced/repaired as part of the rebuild, unlikely they would have been brilliant on a 75 car. who knows?

back in the day retrofitting black bumpers was popular, before people realised how awesome the metal bumpers are

if you coudl get the VIN and check it that could help confirm

That's it with the VIN tho, when I registered my import, I needed to prove it's build age with a letter from VW, VW use the VIN to get said date.

So this must be wearing a 75 VIN number, but is it really a 75 or is it a lter car wearing a 75 VIN plate?
