Post

Well as title says been looking for a mk1 cab for around 6 months. Played around with buying a shed and doing ot up but feared I wouldnt get enough time to work on it as i have a 1yr old or I would sink a load more money than I wanted in to it as once your in your in… then i looked at an nice early car sub 4k but something just didnt click and trying to find a nice low milage minter was hard work…. then looked at rivages but would have had to retrim interior as just dont like the blue cloth and not keen on the wheels but the blue colour is lovely…
……. so after been on the forum I understand the pinicle of mk1 cab ownership is a sportline so i waited and waited then I dug deep as these are not cheep anymore and just bought myself one so welcome me to the club!! Will be at harewood house in Aug.

I know... got a bit carried away but way I sold it to myself is the sportlines hold or increase in value so hopefully im not going to get a big hit should I sell.... at least thats how I sold it to the Mrs, 30 seconds before she stopped talking to me for spending more money on a weekend car than hers daily is worth lol!!

Get a wind deflector (a must buy accessory) and she will love it…….  If you take her out in the car without a wind deflector and go over 30 mph her hair will get messy and you'll be in trouble…..     .

Get the M style wind defector as that runs straight down but you won't be able to reach them….

Let the grandparents look after him/her and enjoy a drive out….

You can buy child seats which work with lap belts…

I've a 4 and 6 year old and I've had my car long before they were born and it's my daily drive….  .

Mine last year when we arrived at a car show… I even fitted the push chair in the car, you can see the top on the back shelf and the base is in the boot. IMG_3142_zpsryontet4.JPG

FYI.

The best wind deflector in the business is the 'Bodie XL' but it's not Children friendly. 🤔

Mind you I along with a few others see that as a major plus point! 😉 👍🏼

Welcome, I too am a first time mk1 cabrio owner, I opted for a doer upper lol so I could make it my own, unfortunately it’s off the road having bodywork and paint done so not able to enjoy it in this weather lol, hopefully I will have it done for August though. Image is the current status of the car

Congrats pal. Mines tucked away in garage too at moment. Looks like its never seen a polish in 15yrs so im currently doing a 6 step detail on the car to get the paintwork back to what it should be just cost me £100 in new products. Its killing me but with every stage its getting better and better. Love the car so much I just want it to be perfect but not in a rush either just want to do it right. Got a wheel refurb lined up as well plus a full interior detail needs new carpet and a few other bits in side plus all new rubbers… but these are rare cars so well worth the time and effort.
