BR Motorsport Golf MK1

HiI have recently acquired an Golf 1981 gti 1600cc with engine worked carried out by BR motorsport.

The car is not running (15 years parked up) and I am going to remove the engine to give it the once over. Unlike gti engineering which has online history with the works carried out to these engines through people’s experiences and period brochures.

I cannot not find any info on the works carried out to engines or works carried out to particular engines. I have looked to locate any period brochures about BR motorsport.

The car came without any paperwork, which does not help. The car has the original engine with a period sticker BR motorsport on the rocker cover. The throttle body has been ported and has a period lower front brace with s/s exhaust systems.

I know the son runs the business now but may not have a back catalogues or list of works carried out to.So does anyone have any info on what works were carried out to the 1600 cc Gti EG engine by BR motorsport.

Further more, I am looking for the locations of the BR motorsport stickers on the car. My car was repainted badly during its life and the stickers are no longer there. From Pictures on the net, the locations are on the bonnet front left and right side of the tailgate.

Can this be confirmed.

Thanks

Mr Ricketts himself put them on my car front left corner of the bonnet and rear right corner below the lights.
