Black Mk1 Golf GTI 1800cc: Reg UET 155Y

Hi

I don’t know if any of you can help me.

I'm looking for a Black Mk1 Golf GTI. The registration number is UET 155Y and having done a HPI check it still seems to be in existence. I owned the car whilst at University and sold it in around 1997 or 1998.

I would be very interested to speak to the current owner about the car.

If you know the car and its whereabouts or the owner of the car id be grateful if you’d get in touch and or pass on his or her contact details.

Thanks

Gareth

Whatcha mate,

Welcome along and good luck with the hunt.

I'm sorry I can't help.

I've moved your post up into the chat area as it'll probably get more hits up here.

Looking at the gov.uk website it's not been on the road since 1st August 2002 and no MOT history so it's not been tested for over 10 years.

If you are lucky it's rusting away in someone's garage or worse case it's been scrapped….

Thanks Mark.

Think nostalgia is getting the better of me! If it turns up great. Otherwise I will look into buying another.

Cheers

Do you guys know if there is a way of finding out the name and address of the registered owner?

You can try the DVLA

I don't think they give out addresses but i seem to recall that they may contact the registered owner for you.

Maybe

I guess all the changes to data protection will stop the DVLA giving out personal details to "strangers"?

DVLA FORM V888

They would want to know why you want the current owners details though.
You could say you have an historical interest in the car or have information the present keeper may like?
