Berg arches love or hate ?

So what are peoples view on berg arches ?
have they been used to much ? current project has slight   flared arches but like the wide look to so personally undecided on my own car.
 

Personally, to do berg arch,s properly requires the use of massive wheels,  not just spacing smaller wheels out. Looks weird seeing a smaller wheel out side the body.

I agree with the above post.
They really only belong on a competition Mk1.

For example.



Look good but totally in practical for day to day use.
You can bet a pound to a pinch of shït someone will damage them in a car park etc…

But if your competing well then that's different! 😉

I haven't bought the wheel yet but if I decided to go that route I was looking at something around the 15x10 I don't use spacers at all and would not dream of using it on the golf rarther  buy  some proper wheels and tyres instead.

Well to be honest I don't intend to use it day to day will be using sometimes or alll the time In the summer haha  anyway  I will be  using it for track day and showing these Subaru's and etc what a real car is. I'm having a full roll cage fitted in the middle of January and I'm in the process of buying the part for a forged abf 😁 and selling the kr engine out of it 

Get a clipper kit, looks better.

alot of people are saying because im fitting the cage and etc to do it, as well with the engine upgrade which i  can have another 2 inch of tyre to ground

Well this is mine but still undecided and need to make a decision by the end of the month 🙁

I don't even like berg arches on the cars they're supposed to be on, let alone a road going Mk1. 

Your car bro, flip a coin. 

Completion cars only I believe. Road going look alikes must be very close to a full thing.

And these are just extended metal arch and rolled  

And then I had some that like in between which I'm not overly keen with these
its either the full wack or none 
People have said the berg arches have been done too much not to sure how true this is 
Or if your running stupid bhp then fit them but there a few golf with like 500 plus without them fitted so proves them wrong 

You've not got a racing car so don't do it.
I know it's your car and all that but I think as it's a normal road going car it would be sacrilege to do it to such a good looking Mk1.

And as sure as God made little apples someone will damage them when it's parked publicly somewhere for certain!

If you want something on the arches what about GTI black spats?
At least they will protect the arches from car doors etc… 👍🏼

Right berg arches are not being fitted 🙂 however I'm going to extended the metal arches after seeing this 😍
