17" Lenso BSX rims on mk1 convertible

Hello fellow members, I have finally undertaken my long awaited 1.8 8v convertible project and have decided that I just can't afford genuine BBS Wheels so I'm thinking big. 
I have decided to go with Lenso BSX 17" 7.5 & 8.5 and was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this manufacture or wheels and just general experience of fitting such large wheels to a Mk1.
Not 100% sure this thread is in the correct place if not please forgive me but I just wanted to chew the fat and learn a little at the same time.

17s on a Mk1 …. you'll have big biceps in no time.. 😉😉

Hey I hadn't thought of that, I've got 16s and can't drive far, lol.

i have lenso bsx on mine, 15,s never been a fan of big wheels on a classic motor  

Ah I'm doing a retro mars red tin top look but on a convertible, so glad you said that you have Lenso bsx on your car, what are the rims like I am seriously considering the 17s it's only for fun not a daily, small bumpers and I'm going to remove that horrible reinforcement that runs all the way along the sill so it looks like a tin top
