Year of registration

Can any one  answer  a query
Mark one golf  but log book says 1996 first registration
Is that right?

Sounds like it's been imported…

Date of registration is exactly that. Not necessarily related to the date of manufacture, just the date it was registered in the UK.

Like my 1986 oval beetle then. 😂

If its been done properly, the V5 will also say that its been imported.
