Will 16" 9j ET2 BBS style wheels fit rear of 83 Cabby

As the title, might have a chance of a staggered set which have been confirmed as 9j for the rears. Still verifying the front set which I'm guessing will be 8J or 8.5J ET25.

Will there be any issues with fitting these? Currently standard suspension but will look to lower at some point.

Thanks

15x8 et25 will fit the front with 195 45s lowered
8.5 front will not, they run very close to the struts as it is with 8s

16s probably will if you run rubber band tyres but although you'll have the arch clearance on standard shocks they'll probably be so soft that you constantly run them antway.

In the rears 15x8s et25 fit and appear to have a lot of room to spare inside the wheel so a 9 would fit but with a lower offset

But in the case of the rears I doubt they will fit in 16 due to cabbys tending to be lower at the rear than the front anyway.

Personally I think 16" is too big for the Golf, the wheels may look nice but they'll never look like they belong.
Im actually going from 15"s down to 14"s for this reason

But it's all personal choice and it's your car to do as you please with

Thanks, I think I'll leave them and get 15's which was my original choice. Was a cheap price but don't want the hassle plus they need refurbed as well.

Cheers
