Wheel Centre Bore?

Good evening folks, does anyone have any idea what wheels I have fitted, they are TSW and I bought them off a pal but we aren't sure what they exactly are. The reason being is I need to order some centric spigot rings as they have a larger bore than the cabrio which I guess is 57.1mm? Without a set of digital vernier I'm stuck for an accurate measurement and need to verify the centre bore of the alloys. Anyone got any idea? Many thanks in advance 🙂

I have the centric rings on one of my cars.  
It was missing 2 of them and as I drove it felt funny.

Not knowing the size I went to a "Wheel Store" and he looked them up in a Catalog and 3 days later I wasn't riding on a washboard.

So if you have a good wheel store they may be able to assist you easily. Just buy 6 unless you glue them in to your rim with Clear RTV.  

I never tend to bother with them, in my expirience I've never felt any difference with or without them. 

They do help you to centre the wheel when fitting tho, which is what I assumed their only purpose was. 

Cheers lads, I was wondering if they do serve a purpose other than aligning wheel nut holes during fitting. I would of thought the nuts take the load of the wheel and car 😃

On some of those rims (wheels) that you can buy they have different holes for different cars as in a HONDA, Toyota, VW each having different lugs and or center holes why make a specific rim for one car when you can make 1 rim fit 30-40 different cars… Some cars use lug nuts and some bolts… I just found that on mine they can get the rim a tad off center as there is play in the diameter of the bolt. The centering rings help with fitment and positioning…. to prevent this off-centered condition I had experienced.

You have a point, I will check the wheel nut holes on the rims and probably order some rings, I can get vernier calipers at work so will wait till after my leave and sort it out, cheers for the help lads 😃🚘

KSD  You deffo need spigot rings, the ring transfers the load of the car to the hub. The bolts are there to hold the wheel on. Bolts work in tension not shear so there is a chance the bolts may break.

I know some people don't and have been fine for years but there's a chance…… especially if the bolts aren't great quality.

Looks like either 74mm or 72mm. They're a fiver for a set. Buy both. Use what fits and save the others for the next time you buy wheels, you might have what you need in stock then! I have about 3 sets in stock at the moment and used a set on my OZ rims as one was missing.  

Check the bolt head too. Some use taper and some use rounded bolts. The bolts need to match the wheels. Also check the length of the bolts are sufficient

Don't mess around with wheels! They're the only thing on the ground!

Thanks for the advice and links mate, will order some but I think as a rough measurement with my rule the alloy wheel was coming in at around 60mm which is a fair bit less than the 72-74 you suggest. Maybe I measured incorrectly but I'm sure there was only a few mm difference 😃

Are you sure there aren't already spigots fitted, but just too large for your centre bore?

60mm seems a pretty small bore for an aftermarket wheel?

Haha no they ain't Raul, in fact they aren't TSW at all, my bad, they are Fox Racing so will do some digging, I have found a set online with 60.1 bore which is around my estimations 😃

Exactly Ian, it's amazing what you can find when you are looking in the right place 😂 Don't know why I thought they were TSW! Hopefully all Fox wheels are 60.1 👍
