Recommended rust removers

Need some recommendations guys

Been quite aware the under side of my BMW is going crispy around the subframe mounting points.

Unfortunately I spun it into kerb Thursday night and bent a lower control arm (and smashed one of my Jaguar xkr flute wheels to pieces) so I need to remove the diff and change them

Makes sense to remove the subframe and future proof the rest while I've got access.

Wire brush in the drill to get down to bare metal before spraying but will need to put something on it before on the paint so which one is best?

Current rides:

2003 BMW 330d Manual Saloon Msport
1985 GTI cabriolet black edition (42k miles)
1999 Triumph Daytona 955i Post apocalyptic, rat, brat, scrambler, steam punk, cafe racer

Evening

I use the Dinitrol rc900 Convertrust product

It can be overpainted / primed prior to top colour or the Dinitrol 4941 Product

That's what I've used and happy with results 👍

I've used Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 on the inner wings and engine bay of the Caddy when I stripped them down to bare metal.

Several months later (yes, I know, it's embarrassing and it will be getting sorted) with nothing other than a couple of coats of this and the most of it is still rust free

Rust removers that I have used over the years.
Sand Blasting
Wire Brushes
Rotary Wire Brushes on Grinders as well as Grinding wheels on both a Grinder, as well as a Hand Drill
Sandy Paper, Hand applied and Machine.
Naval Jelly,
Vinegar.

I have used abrasives to get most of the surface rust off, and Grind or what ever for the crusty rusted prior to welding…. Then used Naval Jelly for the pitted… Then I applied the Rust Convertors to finish, and a good epoxy primer to seal….

But then I do remember the Brush and chip time in the Water Military…. :)

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Cheers KillieStu I got one sorted.

It was an 18x9 rear xk8 rim, found one for 80 bats and got it delivered directly to the refurbers for colour change to match the others
