Rear disc conversion tips needed PLEASE

Ordered a G60 servo and master cylinder from ebay so hopefully it will be here next week

Questions -

brake pressure regulating valves - do I need them?

If so where do you get these from.

The bias adjuster connected to the rear beam via a spring - do I still connect this back up when discs are fitted.

Do I need to remove the brake adjuster completely if not connecting the spring

I am running standard front discs - anything I should do because of this?

Going to run MK4 rear callipers as apparently less issues with sticky handbrakes.

Not sure what you mean by regulating valves,  if you mean as fitted to cabbys then shouldnt need them if you have the one on the rear beam.  If you mean the hexagonal ones down under the master cylinder i believe they should be removed,  i always remove mine when fitting rear discs..
I believe the rear beam adjuster is needed more with rear discs so yes keep it.
If the car is lowered maybe an idea to not connect the spring ,  dont want the adjuster to think there is weight in the back and send more pressure to the rear.
Not sure about keeping standard front discs.
Later alloy calipers make more sense, lighter as well.i

I see some in line valves.

I was under the impression need need to be put in between the rear calliper and the adjuster.  I thought people mounted them to the trailing arms.

Expensive so don’t want to buy them I not needed.

There are pressure reducing valves, and residual pressure valves.
The compensator (under the car at the back with the spring that attaches to the rear beam) does a similar job to a pressure reducing valve, it's just that it can vary with the load in the car. If you have one of these - keep it. They will stop the rears locking up before the fronts. If you really want rid of it, you can fit pressure reducing valves - I beleive later Cabby's used these.
The residual pressure valves are located in the rear brake lines just before they go under the car - you should be able to see them if you look down past the servo/mc. If you are running discs you don't need these. Their job is to hold the pressure in the line (about 10psi I think). You can get ones designed for discs (about 4psi) but they aren't required. If you remove them - keep them safe as orginal ones are quite hard to come by.

My rebuild thread I will try and keep up to date: here

Thank you that great.

Not lowered any longer as was a pain to drive with all the speed bumps and pot holes. May be down about 15mm but nothing much.

Yes have the load adjuster underneath do will re-connect.  Will look at the servo end when I take the original one off and see if there are any valves. If so will remove them.

Nothing is on the beam have that off and removed the ARB already for the powder coaters.

May as well get my pedal to servo linkage costed also while I’m at it.

Thanks
Craig
