Polishing cellulose top coat that's a bit bumpy

I have a general question for you budding home brew painters. I stone chipped my arches, primed and top coated in cellulose colour. Now my dilemma is that I want to get some gloss there to repel any mud / dirt. You know good ole cellulose doesn't like to give a shine without a fight
Perhaps I need to put another coat on wetter with more thinners but my last coat was 75% thinners / 25% colour. I know this stuff can be polished up to a decent shine like the rest of my car.
I managed to get a nice stone chip finish but will this cause me issues if I try to mop it or will it be ok with a wool mop?
Should I put some Upol 1k acrylic clear on instead?
Cheers
Rich
