Fog Lights

Hiya,

One of my inner fog lights got cracked by a stone and trying to find a new pair of one for my 1991 Golf Cabriolet

Seem to be difficult to come by…
Found these, would they fit?

I pretty sure they won’t also depends which grill you have as the brackets change styles on the later cabbys iirc to suit the change of grill

Standard 1991 cabriolet did not have fog lights in the grill, they should be your high beam lights/spot lights.

headlights on full beam, blue light on dash and they should light up?

Hi Mark,

Yes, they are my high beam light, have been trying to tell people that but they keep saying fog lights lol.

Any suggestions on where I can find replacements, tried using the code on the Hella lights but nothing

These?.

Can't remember if they are "sided" or not

Yes they are sided that is the left is different from the right mounts.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thank you "whip" for the Ebay links
So we are saying as they are sided I need to make sure I find one for the passenger side as that's the one that is cracked? (Briano)

Vw heritage have aftermarket clear ones for similar spec ones on 8 weeks.

For if you can find a local hella distributor give them a call and they might be able to get you some.

Thanks Briano for the photo

Unfortunately Mark, I need one in the next 4 weeks or less as moving back home to Austria and taking my baby with me (driving her over). I've got new LHD headlights so that's all sorted just this little problem which came out of the blue….
There is a large automotive distributor which sells old classic car parts so friend popping in there to ask if they have maybe one…

Those lights are pretty easy to "de-haze" as, unlike the headlights, they don't have the centre reflector blocking the entrance. You can just wrap a bit of cloth around a stick and clean it that way.

When the steering wheel was first put into use in automobiles, it was called the whip. The term has now been generalised to classify any automobile.

Hot water about 140 degrees, and 2 Denture tablets crushed let sit about an hour, then rinse with hot water and drain.  After you get most of the water out, you can use a hair dryer to heat the glass and evaporate the rest.

Good point, I forgot about that… make sure you get rid of any moisture so you don't seal it in.
